There is the prospect of a potential Super Saturday when the Commonwealth Games conclude in Birmingham this weekend, with some homegrown medal prospects in action on the track. England’s Jack Laugher will be seeking another gold medal in the 3m springboard, Scotland’s Jake Wightman will contest the 1500m final following his triumph at the World Championships in Athletics last month, alongside teammate Josh Kerr, and Laura Muir will ride for Scotland. her in the 800m final, among many other events.

Duran Duran: Radio 2 in Concert9pm, BBC Two
In a December 2021 performance, the band, which celebrated its 40th anniversary last year, plays a set that includes old favorites. Girls in the movies, hungry as the world Y Ordinary world plus some new songs. They will also appear in Sounds of Birmingham at the BBC (8 pm), a compilation on the occasion of the host city of this summer’s Commonwealth Games.
Les Dawson: 30 Funniest Moments8 p.m., Channel 5
This tribute to the Lancashire-born comedian covers his famous gurning, playing the piano out of tune, his monologues and ‘Cissie and Ada’, the characters he and Roy Barraclough played. Contributors include Brian Conley, Gloria Hunniford and Jon Culshaw, and while at times on these compilations you feel like the talking heads have been roped in to make up the numbers, everyone here seems to genuinely love and admire Les. Seeing this, it’s hard to disagree.

The Sandman, Netflix
Neil Gaiman’s sprawling comic book series has been described as “unfilmable” in the past, but Netflix has taken on the task of transforming its universe into this 10-part adaptation based on the first two arcs of the books. The Sandman tells the story of Morpheus, also known as Dream, who rules over a kingdom known as The Dreaming, the fantasy world that awaits each of us while we dream.
Tom Sturridge leads the cast alongside a host of exciting British stars including Charles Dance, Gwendoline Christie, David Thewlis, Stephen Fry, Jenna Coleman and Sanjeev Bhaskar.

John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum, Channel 4
In this third installment of Chad Stahelski’s thrilling action movie saga, John Wick (Keanu Reeves) is on the run, with a $14 million bounty on his head – a bounty a legion of killers would be happy to collect. Unsurprisingly, Wick is quickly put to the test, taking on more hitmen, kingpins, and other international villains in even more inventive and stylish action sequences. Ian McShane returns as New York Continental Hotel manager Winston, and Halle Berry joins the action as John’s reluctant ally, Sofia Al-Azwar.
