Tottenham star explains to Chelsea why Neymar transfer should go through favorite Thomas Tuchel

Tottenham star Son Heung-min has declared Chelsea target Neymar the best player in the world ahead of Thomas Tuchel’s crucial transfer decisions in the summer.

Tuchel will have welcomed the end of takeover talks and speculation after it was revealed that Roman Abramovich’s sale of the club to Todd Boehly and his Clearlake Capital consortium has been 100% confirmed in a deal worth up to £4.25billion . Now the focus is on the summer transfer window, which opens on June 11th.

Defense is a priority for the Blues this summer with various key names set to depart, meaning certain reinforcements such as Jules Kounde and others will be needed as the likes of Cesar Azpilicueta and Andreas Christensen follow Antonio Rudiger from Stamford Bridge.

Alongside them, however, are a new midfielder and a couple of new attackers on the agenda – although both seem dependent on the Blues’ outgoing deals. Christopher Nkunku, Lautaro Martinez and Ousmane Dembele are reportedly three names on the wish list but a more glamorous name could well eclipse the trio. With Kylian Mbappe staying at PSG, it has been reported that the Parisians are open to offers for the most expensive signing in world football to date.

Neymar’s contract doesn’t expire until 2025 and is currently valued at up to €50m (£42.6m), according to the CIES Football Observatory. PSG would likely ask far more to approve a sale, however, and Boehly and Co have to weigh up whether or not a marquee deal is worth a tackle.

If Tuchel, who worked with the Brazilian star during their time together in Paris, should sanction this expensive transfer operation for Boehly and his new board, the German certainly has some work to do to persuade the attacker to allow England a try in the twilight years of his Career.

“It’s true on my side that I want to stay at Paris Saint-Germain,” Neymar recently told OhMyGoal. “After that, nobody said anything to me. From my side, it’s clear that I want to stay here at PSG.”

The winger made 28 appearances for the French side last season, directly contributing to 21 goals. He has picked up 12 honors for PSG but failed to wrap blue, red and white ribbons around the Champions League. Could he pull off that feat in west London?

Well, if Son Heung-min’s verdict is anything, Chelsea should raise hell to pounce on an uncertain situation sparked by PSG’s costly decision to keep Mbappe. “Neymar is the best player in the world and I think I’m working hard to become the best player in the world,” Son said in a recent interview ahead of South Korea’s friendly against Brazil.

“Instead of being such a problem, Brazil have a lot of really good players and I think if our players do their best to show what we have to show in the game, we can get a good result. Brazil has many world-class players. Our players are also really looking forward to the game itself. I think the most important thing is to make a good game by putting our full focus on the game to do our best in front of a lot of fans. “
