The Mighty Movie’ Adds Taraji P. Henson to Voice Cast

Taraji P. Henson will lead the voice cast of the animated sequel to “PAW Patrol: The Movie” which is in the works for a fall 2023 release.

“PAW Patrol: The Mighty Movie” will be released exclusively in theaters on October 13, 2023, and will feature the return of preschoolers’ favorite crime-fighting team of pups, who gain superpowers in the new film. This is the synopsis of the film:

When a magical meteor lands in Adventure City, it gives the ‘PAW Patrol’ pups superpowers, transforming them into The MIGHTY PUPS! For Skye, the youngest of the team, her new powers are a dream come true. But things take a turn for the worse when the pups’ arch-rival, Humdinger, breaks out of jail and teams up with Victoria Vance, a mad scientist obsessed with meteorites, to steal the superpowers and become supervillains. With the fate of Adventure City at stake, the Mighty Pups must stop the super-villains before it’s too late, and Skye must learn that even the smallest pup can make a difference.

Spin Master Entertainment, Paramount Pictures and Nickelodeon Movies are behind the new “PAW Patrol” movie, and the studio is currently working with returning voice talent from the first movie released last year, as well as additional new cast members. , all of which will be announced soon.

Cal Brunker is also returning to direct “PAW Patrol: The Mighty Movie,” with his writing partner Bob Barlen now taking on the role of associate producer.

Details of Henson’s character are being kept under wraps, but a statement suggests that she could be one of the villains in the new film.

“I am very excited to be a part of PAW Patrol’s next theatrical adventure,” said Henson. “While I don’t want to give away too much, my character in the film presents the pups with new challenges that they must band together to overcome. I think the film has a powerful message for kids that no matter how young they are, they can still make a difference in their community.”

Jennifer Dodge, president of Spin Master Entertainment, with Laura Clunie, senior vice president of development, current series and features at Spin Master, and Toni Stevens, senior vice president of production and entertainment operations at Spin Master, will produce the film. Spin Master Co-Founder Ronnen Harary, Spin Master Executive Vice President Adam Beder and Peter Schlessel will serve as executive producers.

“PAW Patrol: The Movie” opens in theaters in August 2021 and day and date on Paramount+. The film grossed $150 million at the worldwide box office and became the most-watched movie on Paramount+, a title that still holds steady with multiple repeat views per user.

Henson is also lending her voice to the upcoming “Minions: The Rise of Gru” opening this summer, and will next be seen in the musical remake of “The Color Purple” and in the Emmitt Till biopic “Till.”
