Seth Rogen’s TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES Reboot Gets An Official Title And Updated Released Date

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem is the official title of Seth Rogen’s computer-animated remake of our beloved heroes in a half shell. The film is scheduled to be released in theaters on August 4, 2023.

There is a lot of mystery and intrigue surrounding Seth Rogen. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles restart, but today a layer was removed. The official title of the upcoming computer animated film is Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem.

The announcement was made on Seth Rogen’s Twitter account where he also shared some really cool artwork. You’ll notice that it also contains a release date: August 4, 2023. This is actually one week before the previously announced date and exactly one year from today. As the picture confirms, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem It will be released exclusively in theaters.

Not much is known about the film or its plot, but Rogen has been drip-feeding us concept art and vague details over the past few months. Back in February, we enjoyed concept art for the CGI reboot, giving us our first look at character designs for Leonardo, Raphael, Donatello, and Michelangelo. At the time, Rogen had explained that he intended to emphasize the “teenage” aspects of the Turtles.

This was not only evident in his designs, but also from the humor in a previously released teaser image of Leonardo’s science class notebook shared by Rogen. Suddenly, the three types of mutations listed in Leo’s notes make a lot more sense now that we know the title of the movie. While it’s still incredibly clear, perhaps the mutations mentioned (deletion, duplication, and translocation) serve as a clue.

Details remain elusive and we still don’t know who will voice our beloved half-shell heroes. We also don’t know which non-Turtle characters are in the movie. Back to the notebook though, a reminder to apologize to April. [O’Neil] suggests that she could also appear in the film.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem It will be co-directed by Jeff Rowe. Previously, Rowe had written and co-directed the critically acclaimed animated film for Netflix. The Mitchells vs. the Machines. Co-direct alongside him is The Mitchells vs. the Machines storyboard artist Kyle Spears. However, previous success does not necessarily carry over to new projects, but The Mitchells vs. the Machines it was a fantastic movie with almost universal acclaim, so at least we know TMNT: Mutant Mayhem is in good hands. If Brendan O’Brien can deliver a strong script, then fans should be in for a treat. Not to mention that Seth Rogen and his longtime collaborator Evan Goldberg are on board as producers.

With a release date just a year away, hopefully we should start to see some official artwork and maybe a proper synopsis for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem in the coming weeks or months to come.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem is just one of several TMNT projects on the way. Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Movie Coming to Netflix tomorrow, August 5, while Paramount+ is getting a villain series TMNT Films.
