Real Madrid’s latest transfer could hurt Edu’s chances of a £12m deal with Arsenal – Bailey Keogh

Arsenal’s potentially ideal midfield signing could be disrupted by Real Madrid’s transfer hunt after Kylian Mbappe defeat. Los Blancos have reportedly stepped up their hunt for Aurelien Tchouameni which could hurt the Gunners.

AS Monaco want Yves Bissouma to replace outgoing Tchouameni, according to French journalist Fabrice Hawkins. He goes on to claim that the Brighton midfielder has plenty of offers, including a proposal from Aston Villa – although their deal to sign Boubacar Kamara from Marseille is likely to end that pursuit.

The Gunners need a midfielder in the summer. Arsenal have previously been linked with a deal for Bissouma and his acquisition ahead of next season would certainly bolster the strength of Mikel Arteta’s midfield.

Bissouma could be signed at the CIES Football Observatory for a bargain price He quotes him as £12.5million. The midfielder’s current contract expires at the end of next season, which means the Seagulls will have to sell him in the summer or tie him to a new deal to avoid losing him on a free transfer.

The Gunners had also previously been linked with Bissouma but face competition for the midfielder. A deal becomes even more difficult when Manchester United are in the running to sign him.

Bissouma has the quality and confidence to match, he told the BBC He previously stated last year that he aspires to become the best midfielder in the league. “I don’t mean to be arrogant, but that’s my opinion. I think for myself I am because I’m working in my head to be the best,” Bissouma said.

“I know the Premier League has a lot of good midfielders but for me it’s me because it gives me confidence and energy to work hard and show people I’m here, I’m Bissouma.”

Arsenal could fall short in midfield this summer reckons Roma are likely to make another attempt to sign Granit Xhaka at the end of the season.

That would make Thomas Partey and Mohammed Elneny the only experienced midfielders in the team. Albert Sambi Lokonga and Charlie Patino have the potential but still have a full regular-time Premier League season under their belt.

Bissouma would certainly be an excellent option for Arsenal, especially considering its cheap value. Edu should definitely look into this transfer and prevent Monaco from replacing Tchouameni by signing him.
