Ray Liotta has died ‘in his sleep’ in the Dominican Republic, where he was shooting the movie Dangerous Waters
Ray Liotta shared details about an exciting film project days before his shocking death at the age of 67.
The actor reportedly died in his sleep while working on a new film project in the Dominican Republic.
Ray took to Instagram three days before his death to talk about his upcoming film Cocaine Bear, which follows the crazy story of a 500-pounder. bear that ingests cocaine and goes on a rampage, endangering an entire town.
His last social media post, shared on May 3, was a screenshot of a headline confirming news of one of his movies.
The headline read: “Elizabeth Banks’ ‘Cocaine Bear’ to be released in theaters February 2023.”
Ray was set to star in the film and shared a brief synopsis with fans, writing, “Cocaine Bear follows a bizarre group of cops, criminals, tourists and teenagers who converge in a Georgia forest where a 500-pound apex predator has ingested a staggering amount of the white powder and goes on a coke-fueled rampage in search of more punches and blood.”
Fans were emotional in the comments, sending messages of congratulations to the star.
“This movie sounds wild!” one fan wrote while another commented, “Great cast! Congrats!!”
A third added: “A must see, he looks like one of my favorite actors, Ray Liotta.”
The famous actor’s career break came in Martin Scorsese’s 1990 crime classic Goodfellas after co-starring in Field of Dreams.
He was filming the movie Dangerous Waters at the time of his death, having seen a resurgence in his career in recent years.
He recently starred in films like The Many Saints of Newark, Marriage Story, for which he shared a 2020 Indie Spirit Award for Casting, and No Sudden Move.
She finished Cocaine Bear, directed by Elizabeth Banks, and was due to star in the Working Title film The Substance, opposite Demi Moore and Margaret Qualley.
Liotta leaves a daughter, Karsen. He was engaged to be married to Jacy Nittolo.
Deadline claimed the star died in her sleep but did not give a reason, while TMZ claimed foul play was not suspected.
He was last photographed in public in early May at the Pacific Palisades in Los Angeles, California.
The iconic actor was born in New Jersey in 1954 and was abandoned in an orphanage.
He was adopted when he was six months old by Town Clerk Mary and auto parts store owner Alfred Liotta.
He has a sister, Linda, who is also adopted. Ray later found out that he has a biological sister, a biological half-brother, and five biological half-sisters.
One of Ray’s earliest roles was as Joey Perrini on the soap opera series Another World, where he appeared from 1978 to 1981.
Ray made his film debut in 1983’s The Lonely Lady, but his first major acting role was Something Wild in 1986, which earned him his first Golden Globe nomination.
It was in 1990 that Ray took on the role of real-life mobster Henry Hill in Martin Scorsese’s critically acclaimed film Goodfellas.
