Ousmane Dembele’s future is still up in the air which is why he has been linked with moves to some of Europe’s biggest clubs.
Dembele’s contract at the Camp Nou expires in the coming weeks, leaving a clear possibility that he could leave on a free transfer. Chelsea are keen to bring him to the Premier League, while Paris Saint-Germain have also been heavily linked with a move in January.
A reunion with Thomas Tuchel could prove tempting for the former Borussia Dortmund man, especially now that the club’s new ownership saga seems to be finally settled. If Dembele’s move were to come to fruition, one of Christian Pulisic, Hakim Ziyech, Callum Hudson-Odoi or most likely Timo Werner would have to go to make room in the squad. football.london understands.
Nevertheless, the commitment of the French remains exciting. In this sense, football.london took a look at the latest news and rumors about Dembele’s future.

Dembele’s Barcelona stance revealed
Dembele’s agent Moussa Sissoko has revealed that his client is still thinking about his client’s future and isn’t ready to finalize a new deal at the Nou Camp should it come to that.
As quoted by Fabrizio Romano on Twitter, he said: “Ousmane’s future remains open. We are and have always been very respectful of all clubs and will continue to be so throughout the ongoing process. When the time is right to make a decision, Ousmane will consider the best option for his future.”

According to Mundo Deportivo’s latest report, quoted by Barcauniversal, Dembele is close to a deal deal with Chelsea with a free transfer to Stamford Bridge now playing a big role.
According to 90min, Chelsea are quietly confident they can capitalize on the uncertainty surrounding Dembele’s future by striking an agreement to bring him to Stamford Bridge. The report adds that Barcelona are closer to Dembele’s lofty aspirations, although they are still not confident he will put pen to paper.
As quoted by Metro, reports in Spain suggest that Chelsea are planning to make Dembele their first signing of the Boehly era. Barcelona still have slim hope of agreeing a new deal but the dangerous financial situation makes that unlikely and Chelsea are now in a position to pounce.
Why Tuchel has to fill the hazard gap
The loss of Eden Hazard has hit Chelsea more than we could have imagined. Since the Belgian’s departure, no other Chelsea player has managed to score 20 goals in a single season. In his last season with the Blues in 2019, he scored 21 goals in all competitions and finished his season as the top scorer. Considering Eden Hazard is by no means a preferred goalscorer, that’s a pretty alarming statistic.
The question now is how Chelsea can fill the void of such character in the dressing room and on the pitch. Could Dembele help?
