The Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology (MoIAT) and EDGE have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to establish the first Industry 4.0 Enablement Center in the UAE.
Entities will explore how the Enablement Center can benefit from what has been achieved by the EDGE Learning & Innovation Factory (LIF), a high-tech learning, innovation and demonstration center for Industry 4.0, operational excellence and advanced technology.
According to the association, EDGE will carry out initiatives, training courses and on-site programs beginning in September with the goal of accelerating the adoption of technology in the industrial sector.
The Industry 4.0 Enablement Center will carry out various activities, including raising awareness of Industry 4.0 technologies and practices, enhancing the capabilities of manufacturers with specialized training curricula, demonstrating the benefits of 4IR technology, support for the development of Industry 4.0 strategies and the creation of a test bench and an open space. -access environment to pilot and co-develop innovative technologies.

Sarah Al Amiri, Minister of State for Public Education and Advanced Technology, added: “The center will help empower industry by supporting businesses to adopt advanced technology and upskill the workforce, thus increasing productivity and productivity. efficiency. Ultimately, the establishment of this center is in line with the UAE’s Industry 4.0 program and the goals of our broader national strategy for industry and advanced technology.”
Faisal Al Bannai, Chairman of the EDGE Board of Directors, said: “EDGE Learning & Innovation Factory is investing heavily in advanced technologies, innovation and capacity building to provide a real-life test bed that offers a future-focused approach. for digital. transformation, operational excellence and Industry 4.0, to be able to drive organizations based on data”.
EDGE’s learning and innovation factory provides learners with hands-on, game-based, hands-on learning.
The MoIAT, EDGE and the Emirates Development Bank signed a mutual agreement during the “Make it in the Emirates” Forum in June this year to support the development of manufacturing at EDGE, one of the world’s top 25 advanced technology groups for the defense.
