England kick off the 2022/23 Nations League season with a trip to Budapest where they face Hungary on Saturday.
Gareth Southgate’s side will play four games in June and with Germany and Italy being the other two sides in Group A3, tougher tests lie ahead.
England have been unbeaten since losing to Italy in the Euro 2020 final but that record is likely to be tested in the coming weeks with a trip to Germany and a visit from Roberto Mancini.
Southgate earlier this week named his squad for this month’s internationals, with AC Milan’s Fikayo Tomori securing a well-deserved return and first call-ups for West Ham United’s Jarrod Bowen and Leicester City’s James Justin.
The Three Lions coach will urge his side to focus fully on Hungary and rightly so given that Marco Rossi’s side have faced big opponents over the last 12 months – at Euro 2020 against France and Germany drew and drew 1-1 against England in October.

Our prognosis: Hungary against England
Hungary drew 1-1 with England at Wembley in October and they are in Group A3 on merits so Southgate will be urging his side not to underestimate them.
Still, they will be big favorites and while the visitors might not name a full-strength side due to games later this month, it should mean there are plenty of players involved, desperate to prove a point.
It may take a while for the hosts to be defeated, but if they do, expect England to find the net a few more times.
Our prediction: Hungary 1-4 England (25/1 at Bet365)
