International Preview | Rangers football club

THE season is not over for a number of Rangers first-team players who are set to feature in some big games for their various international teams in the coming weeks. Here’s our preview of who’s gone where…


John Souttar – Scotland

After officially becoming a Ranger today, John is hoping to be involved in a tremendous game for Scotland when they take on Ukraine in a World Cup play-off semi-final in Hampden.

Victory for the Scots will see them meet Wales in Cardiff on Sunday for a place in Qatar in November.

The Scots then play three UEFA Nations League games at home against Armenia on Wednesday, in Ireland on 11 June and in Armenia on 14 June.

Aaron Ramsey – Wales

Wales begin their Nations League A campaign in Poland tonight before taking on either Scotland or Ukraine for a World Cup spot on Sunday night in Cardiff.

They then host the Dutch and Belgians in the Nations League on June 8 and 11 respectively, before playing away to the Netherlands on June 14.

Steven Davis & Charlie McCann – Northern Ireland

Steven Davis, who has just agreed to another year at Rangers, will be joined by Charlie McCann for the first time in the Northern Ireland squad after the youngster impressed with his contributions to the Rangers first-team in the latter part of the season.

They start their Nations League C season at home against Greece tomorrow night before traveling to Cyprus on Sunday and Kosovo next Thursday, before rounding out against the Cypriots in Belfast next Sunday.

Borna Barisic – Croatia

Croatia starts the League A Nations League with four fantastic games. They host Austria on Saturday and France on Monday before traveling to Denmark next Friday and playing France away on Monday week.

Glen Kamara – Finland

Finland will start their Nations League B games at home against Bosnia on Saturday. This will be followed by a home game against Montenegro on Tuesday, an away game in Romania next Saturday and an away game in Bosnia on Tuesday 14 June.
