How to read the hotel technology distribution infographic

The hotel technology distribution infographic starts with the hotel at the center and expands towards the guest. The graph is organized by following the flow of data from the hotel to the guest through the three distribution groups: online, travel agents and tour operators, and meetings and events. Each ring that moves out is a level of hospitality technology that builds on the last one to reach the guest.

For example, a Property Management System (PMS) connects to a Channel Manager, which connects to an OTA, which then connects to a search engine, and finally to the guest.

Below are descriptions of each section of the hotel technology industry, from the inside out.

They are one of the most important sales channels, but before the data reaches them, they must be structured, have the right rates and more. A hotel’s website is also found in this section.
