Football Announce Cornerback Addition – West Virginia University Athletics

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – West Virginia University football coach Neal Brown announced that Rashad Ajayi, a 5-foot-11, 190-pound fifth-year cornerback from Atlanta, Georgia, has signed on scholarship and will be moving from Colorado State to WVU. He still has one year of eligibility remaining.

  • Played for coach Steve Addazio at Colorado State

  • Registered three solo tackles in Hawaii
  • Had a tackle for a four-yard loss against the Air Force
  • Recorded three tackles each against Boise State and in Wyoming, including two unassisted tackles
  • Finished with two tackles including a tackle for loss at Utah State
  • Collected three solo tackles in Iowa
  • Season highlight four solo tackles in Toledo
  • Assisted in two tackles against Vanderbilt
  • Opened the season with three solo tackles against South Dakota State

2020 (Jr.) – State of Colorado

  • Started all four games at cornerback in a COVID-shortened season

  • Credited with a pass breakup, the opening game at Fresno State

  • His only tackle for loss came in San Diego State

  • Had a solo tackle, a pass resolution, and returned an interception 55 yards for a touchdown against San Jose State
