Downton Abbey star Joanne Froggatt’s new BBC drama looks amazing – and is coming to screens very soon!

Joanne Froggatt may be best known to audiences for her role in the hugely popular period drama downton abbeybut when she’s not playing Anna, Lady Mary’s trusted servant, she’s always wowed us with her performances in characters like Liar Y Black Angela.

And now it has been revealed that her latest exciting drama, sherwood, will hit the screens very soon! The six-part BBC drama will make its debut in Wednesday June 13, 2022.

Joining Joanne in the series cast are several faces familiar to TV fans, including The missing david Morrissey, magpie murders lesley Manville Star, ghostsRobert Glenister and Bridgerton actress Lorraine Ashbourne. Their city ​​center co-star Kevin Doyle, aka Mr Molesley, also has a supporting role.

Completing the cast are Alun Armstrong, Bally Gill, Adeel Akhtar, Philip Jackson and Claire Rushbrook, who play the inhabitants of the mining town in which the series takes place.

The series, written by Proof Inspired by true events, writer James Graham promises to explore “the frayed social and political fabric of post-Brexit Britain.”

Joanne will star in the new series.

The show’s synopsis reads: “Sherwood is a contemporary drama at the heart of which are two shocking and unexpected murders that tear an already fractured community apart and spark a massive manhunt. As suspicions and antipathy grow, between neighbors from all over life and towards the police forces that descend on the city, The tragic killings threaten to inflame historic divisions sparked during the miners’ strike three decades earlier.”

Joanne will take on the role of a woman named Sarah, who struggles to hide how uncomfortable she feels in the company of her future father-in-law.

Meanwhile, David and Robert will play DCS police rivals Ian St Clair and DI Kevin Salisbury, who have been paired up to find the link between a series of murders in the small community.
