Cardi tries Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion
There are some unlikely sports stars in this house: Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion!
In a new episode of Cardi’s Messenger Watch Together series Cardi triesThe 29-year-old rapper was joined by friend and “WAP” collaborator Megan Thee Stallion to learn how to play football from professional NFL athletes on the Los Angeles Chargers team.
“Okay guys, today I’m going to learn NFL,” the “I Like It” actor said at the beginning of the episode. “Having a son makes me want to be one of those sports moms who puts my heart and soul into the sporting activity and I want to learn everything about football today.”
Cardi then introduced 27-year-old Megan, who she thought would be “the perfect person” to learn the sport with. “I’ve never played soccer before, but I know how to catch,” the “Body” rapper joked.
The pair entered the Chargers’ practice building in Costa Mesa, Calif., and Megan joked about her past experiences in a room adjacent to football. “I danced for the drill team in high school,” she recalls. “I used to be at the football field at 6 a.m. every morning and look at the boys.”

Cardi and Megan then met Chargers player Antonio Gates, who briefed them on the agenda: a 40-yard dash followed by a mix of defense and offense play hours. Gates introduced them to the team’s equipment manager, Kevin Duddy, who put shoulder pads on them and had the rappers practice their playing faces.
“Trust me when I put that face on my husband … he gets scared,” Cardi told Gates.

As she prepared to run the 40-meter dash, the ‘Bodak Yellow’ musician reminisced about old times when she practiced her running skills – for a hilarious reason.
“When I was in high school, I went to a lot of Hooks parties,” Cardi said. “And the cops used to blast the hooky parties a lot, so I had to run a lot.”
Later in the clip, they met players Derwin James and Keenan Allen, who taught them a defensive drill: tackling a dummy. “I’m just going to pretend I don’t like that bitch,” Cardi said while preparing for her attempt.

She and Megan then progressed to attacking moves like throwing and catching the football – before showing off their dancing skills in a lesson on touchdown celebrations. At one point, the pair instructed James, 25, and Allen, 30, to perform a touchdown dance they choreographed on the next goal during a game.
After the day’s study was complete, the rappers reflected on what they learned.

“One thing I learned about football is that you really need a really strong teammate, and that’s why I found my teammate right here,” Cardi says, laughing of Megan. “We had so much fun and I feel a lot more confident about football. [I’d] I love that my son is there.”
“I like catching, I like throwing or whatever, so I’m really glad Cardi had me out here today — my teammate,” Megan said. “I have a newfound support for the NFL because I can’t believe all of you out here are doing this to yourselves.”
