former Chelsea and Arsenal striker Willian could reportedly be in line for a surprise Premier League return this summer.

The 33-year-old left the Emirates last summer after an unfavorable spell with the Gunners after scoring just one goal in 25 Premier League games for the club in his only season.

He was shipped off to Brazilian club Corinthians around this time last year and agreed to a massive pay cut on the alleged £300,000-a-week deal he was handed from Arsenal.

But he hasn’t set the world on fire at home, scoring just one goal in 35 games and providing four assists – although he’s still considered a key player.

According to, he still has – somewhat surprisingly – Premier League suitors and has been in talks with Fulham over an unlikely return to London.

Willian seems keen to leave Corinthians after struggling somewhat to settle down and suffering from muscle injuries and would love to return to England.

He even has a clause in his contract that means the Brazilian side are obliged to facilitate a move to a European club so Fulham can start talks.

Willian, of course, lived in London for over nine years, having joined Chelsea from Anzhi Makhachkala in 2013.

He has fond memories of living in the capital and raising his young family there, while a potential move to Fulham would see the winger return to his old stomping ground in west London.

Fulham are likely drawn by Willian’s vast experience – in both the Premier League and Champions League – and have sought to add senior professionals to their squad to avoid relegation.

However, Corinthians would be reluctant to lose a player who is an important part of the squad when he is fit.

Marco Silva and Fulham appear to be keeping a close eye on the Brazilian market and have already signed Manchester United’s Brazilian midfielder Andreas Pereira, who was on loan at Flamengo last season.

The Cottagers have a growing contingent of Portuguese-speaking players in their squad, with another ex-Flamengo player – Rodrigo Muniz – joined by Ivan Cavaleiro and summer signing Joao Palhinha.

If Willian were to move to Fulham, he would also be reunited with old Arsenal team-mate Bernd Leno.
