GREENSBORO, NC – The ACC on Thursday announced several kick times and TV network designations for the upcoming college football season.

Virginia Tech opens its season at the Old Dominion on Friday, September 2 at 7:00 p.m. ET on ESPNU. The Hokies will also play in two Thursday night primetime ESPN games.

Tickets for the whole season are still available and offer the most value-conscious option per game along with the many exclusive benefits they offer to the most loyal tech supporters. Season start on the road in Norfolk, head coach freshman Brent Pry meets longtime friend and current Monarch head coach Ricky Rahne, with the two working together at their previous stints (Vanderbilt, Penn State).

For Coach Pry’s home opener, Boston College will travel to Blacksburg for Tech’s inaugural ACC competition on Saturday, September 10 at 8:00 p.m. ET on ACC Network. It is the fourth time the Hokies have opened conference play with the Eagles since joining the ACC (2010, 2016, 2019).

The earliest game ever played at Lane Stadium is Saturday, September 17 against Wofford, an FCS team in the Southern Conference (SoCon), at 11 a.m. ET on ACC Network. The two teams have never faced each other in their respective program history.

Tech will play for the Black Diamond Trophy when it hosts West Virginia on September 22 at 7:30 p.m. ET on ESPN at Lane Stadium, marking the first time it has hosted the Mountaineers on a Thursday night since 2000.

This fall’s other Thursday night competition is October 27 at 7:30 p.m. on ESPN at NC State. The last time Tech had two Thursday night games in the same year was in 2016.
