Women’s basketball magazines are now the biggest sellers of all time in the UK, and now, in a major blow to the UK’s male-dominated media, the biggest female-run sports publications are also the biggest sales.
The rise in the number of women-run titles in the past two years has been the biggest growth in the industry in the last 20 years, with the Women’s Lacrosse magazine leading the way.
The magazine’s editor, Helen Jones, said: “We were the only women’s sports magazine in the top 10 in the world for six years and now it’s one of the biggest selling sports magazines in the country.”
“We are seeing more and more women in sports, from golf to cycling and tennis, so we’ve seen a huge increase in sales,” Ms Jones said.
“There’s a lot more women than men in sports.”
This is fantastic news for our sport, and a big boost to our magazine.
“The UK is the only country in the EU where there are no women-only clubs and we’re very proud to have one.”
Ms Jones said the growth in women’s basketball was particularly impressive given that the women’s team was not only the best in the nation, but also the most successful women’s sport in the entire UK.
“It’s really exciting to see how much women’s sporting success has grown over the past few years,” she said.
A new sports-focused women’s magazine was also launched in the wake of the publication of the first Sports Illustrated women’s cover.
“We launched a sports magazine called Sports Illustrated Women in the summer of 2016,” Ms Smith said.
“That was the first magazine to have a female sports cover, and we were really excited to have that first issue.”
As well as covering the world’s best women’s athletes, we’re also going to focus on the women in sport and the women that are just starting out in sport.””
There are a lot of women’s magazines in England that don’t have a lot to offer,” Ms Watson said.
The Women’s Tennis magazine launched last year, and is the UKs most popular women’s tennis magazine.
The first issue features photos from around the world, including images from the UK in the days leading up to the Women in Tennis Championships in London, and features tennis players from around Europe, the US, Japan and Australia.
The UK’s women’s football team is also one of two teams to have featured in the magazine, and has been a major seller, selling more than 1.6 million copies since it was launched in January.
The launch of the Women Sports Journal was another big coup for the UK sports industry, with more than 60 publications covering the sport.
The UK Sport Federation is also pleased to see the launch of women on the cover of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue, as well as the Women at Football issue, with women athletes representing more than 70 sports across the country.”
